For 2018’s grain harvest, University of Arkansas researchers will now be working with an integrated Harrington Seed Destructor installed on a John Deere combine. Previously, they experimented with a tow-behind unit. Now, thought, they give this self-contained model a full workout this fall in both their plots and on farmers’ fields.
The Australian-developed unit pulverizes an extremely high percentage of weed seeds gathered at harvest, spreading the dust-like debris behind the combine.
