Wider approvals for dicamba-based herbicide technology in the U.S. is somewhat shifting market usage patterns on a global basis. Dicamba sales in North America this year could move past those in Europe, according to an analytical report.
Global market sales could reach $313.3 million (U.S.) in 2016, and North American business may outpace European sales in terms of year-over-year growth, says a press release from Future Market Insights, which developed and markets the full report.
“Europe is currently the largest market for dicamba (on a regional basis),” the release noted. “However, it may witness a slight decline post-2016…A higher growth rate is expected to be registered by North America, possibly accounting for almost (a) 24% share of the market value in 2016. In 2017, Europe will exhibit a strong (year-over-year) growth of 7.7% over 2016, whereas that of North America is projected to be of 9.2%.”
Companies listed as major players in the trend include BASF, Monsanto, Dow, Bayer, Nufarm and Syngenta.
